CONGRATULATIONS TO SEDRO WOOLLEY 2011 QUEEN - ANDREA IVERSEN

My grandmother put me on a horse before I could walk, since then my passion for horses has continued to grow. I rode with my grandmother in my first parade at the age of eight and wanted to be just like the queens in front of the line. They had inviting smiles, friendly personalities and beautiful clothes. As each year went by I knew I was coming closer to my dream. In the duration of waiting to become of age, I joined 4H were I have competed in Western Game Events at the Skagit, Monroe and Puyallup fairs. This year I am privileged to have the opportunity to represent the Sedro Woolley Rodeo and I look forward to being a positive influence to our youth as the past queens have to me.

Never have I missed the chance to attend a rodeo. I am not sure if I could pick one event to be my favorite, since they all have their own unique perks. But I do know my favorite place to sit is right next to the fence close to the action, the closer the better. There’s nothing better than a little dirt on your face while you’re at the rodeo. I love to watch these athletes, both contestants and stock, with their true grit of hard work and dedication. Rodeo is a sport that has evolved from ranch work and there couldn’t be a better way of displaying the talents these cowboys and cowgirls have to offer. This year I am excited to be able to meet new faces, attend events and promote the Sedro-Woolley Rodeo.
