Living a stones throw from the Sedro-Woolley Riding Club Carolyn Hunter is the 2010 Sedro-Woolley Fourth of July Rodeo Queen. Carolyn is the 19 year old daughter of Christine and the late David Hunter. The youngest of three rodeo queen girls, she grew up around the rodeo and cannot remember a time where she wasn’t selling pop with here dad, buttering buns in the concession stand, carrying sponsor flags or riding her lifelong friend Cricket around the barrels. Carolyn has been a member of the riding club for 19 years and attended her first rodeo when she was only two weeks old and has never missed one since. Before Carolyn had even learned to walk, she was riding horses and has not stopped since then. Carolyn gained all of her horsemanship skills from 4-H where she was a member of the Boots and Buckles 4-H club for 13 years. In 4-H Carolyn has shown performance, where she was the 2009 Senior Reserve High Point, as well as Western Games and was on both state teams. Carolyn also showed cats for 13 years and was on the State Horse Bowl Team for seven. Currently, she has started training to become a 4-H leader to continue helping the young adults in her community. Graduating in 2008 from Sedro-Woolley High School Carolyn is currently pursuing her hopes of becoming a high school science teacher at Skagit Valley College and intends to transfer to Western Washington University. While in high school Carolyn was very involved in her FFA chapter and was a top ten candidate for the 2009 Washington State FFA Officer Team. Inside the rodeo arena Carolyn reigned as the 2009 Miss Teen Rodeo Washington and plans on competing for Miss Rodeo Washington. Carolyn enjoys riding English and western performance as well as pushing cows in the arena. Rodeo and horses are not everything in Carolyn’s life. She greatly enjoys reading any book she can find, listening to music of any type, hanging out with friends, cake decorating, and cooking new recipes.

Andrea Iversen

I am Andrea Iversen the daughter of Eric and Leah Iversen of Sedro Woolley. I am a junior at Sedro Woolley High School with a 3.97 GPA and taking rigorous AP classes. At school I am member of National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Yearbook and also on the swim, girls wrestling, and tennis teams. I have been president of Spanish Club and a tennis captain. An accomplishment I am proud of is being a two time state placer on the Sedro Woolley Girls Wrestling Team and a part of a team that has been awarded Academic and Mat Classic State Champions for the past two years. Before wrestling, I was involved in gymnastics where I competed at a state level. I have been involved in 4-H for seven years and am currently the President of Trailblazers 4-H Club. I was 2007 Skagit County Fair Grand Champion in western games and have competed numerous times at Puyallup State Fair. A highlight of my childhood was riding my pony alongside my grandma's horse in the 4th of July Parade. I loved waving to the crowd and pretending that someday I would be that rodeo queen in the front representing the Sedro Woolley Riding Club. For the past six years I have enjoyed carrying a sponsor flag for the riding club, in the parade and rodeo. I have done a variety of volunteering. Closest to my heart is working with the elderly and helping at Steelclaw Wrestling Tournaments. For enjoyment I horseback ride, fish, hike, camp, and spend time with family and friends. I am thankful for my supportive grandparents who have put me on a horse before I was even capable of walking. After graduation I plan on attending the UW and major in the medical field.

Michelle Earnest

Hey everyone, and welcome to the rodeo! My name is Michelle Earnst, and I would love to be your 2011 Loggerodeo queen. I am the lucky 19-year-old daughter of Keith (some of you might know him as Denny) and Maria Earnst. I am a 2009 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and will be beginning my sophomore year at Skagit Valley College in the fall. While at MVHS, I was the FFA chapter president from 2006 to 2009 and competed at state level in Parliamentary Procedure, Agricultural Mechanics, and Environmental Resources. In addition to these teams, I also raised a market lamb for the Puget Sound Jr. Livestock Show, belonged to the National Honor Society, and was a Student Athletic Trainer for the JV and Varsity football teams. Outside of school, I have been very active in the Valley Green Acres 4H club, where I spent six years gaming and am now a 4H leader. I have spent 15 years in the Tim Salerno School of Karate-do, where I currently hold a Shodan black belt. Now that I’m out of high school, I have started riding on the Rodeo Cowgirls drill team with my horse Kennicke. When I finish my AAUCT degree at Skagit, I plan to transfer to Washington State University and major in Animal Science, with a special interest in beef production.

Heather Morgan

Greetings my name is Heather Ashley Morgan, I am the proud daughter of Patrick and Irma Morgan and I was born and raised in Sedro-Woolley Washington. Currently I am a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School and a sophomore at Skagit Valley College. My first two years of High School I was an active member of the FFA and SKADU (Skagit kids against drug use). At Skagit I am extremely involved and active in the Campus Christian Fellowship club as an officer. Truly my passion for horses was passed down to me from my great grandfather who had a desire to train his own horses. From the womb I was horse crazy. When I am not occupied with my job working at United General Hospital, with their kitchen staff, or out riding I help my parents take care of my five adopted siblings. My goal is to become a registered nurse and I plan to pursue further in my education to become a midwife.
